Google Launches AI to Communicate with Dolphins

Google has unveiled DolphinGemma, an AI model designed to interpret and generate dolphin sounds, aiming to enable basic communication with dolphins. Developed with Georgia Tech and the Wild Dolphin Project, the model functions like a language model but is trained on dolphin vocalizations. It can already reference objects in dolphin play and will run on an underwater computer. Google plans to release it publicly this summer and expand to other animal species in the future.
