Alibaba’s Quark Becomes China’s Leading AI App

Alibaba’s Quark app has surged to the top of China’s AI market, reaching around 150 million monthly active users and surpassing rivals like ByteDance’s Doubao and DeepSeek. Originally a cloud storage and search tool, Quark was recently transformed into a full-featured AI assistant. As competition intensifies, ByteDance is adding video features to Doubao, while Tencent integrates its AI service Yuanbao into WeChat. Globally, Quark now ranks sixth among the most used AI apps, still trailing far behind ChatGPT in overall popularity.
